flat and exhaust bank question 3.4L
#2
I assume you are talking about the flats on the cam. They are flat spots machined into the cam for when you need to time them. There is a tool that bolts to the head and holds the cams stationary by clamping down against the flats. The exhaust bank is the outer cam shaft on each head. The inners are the intake cams.
