Engine Swap?

RE: Engine Swap?
that is incorrect! they are not duplicate engines... there is infact many internal differences between the 95 and 96 3.4 L DOHC engines.
-intake and TB are the most visible diff's
-heads are different
-pistons are diff
-cams are diff
-computer and OBD systems are diff
-exhaust manifolds are diff
-many sensors are also diff.
Now my question is why do you want to swap to a 95motor? the 96 and 97 DOHC are the best ones. 95 is the worst DOHC in the entire history for the LQ1 motor. the computer is not able to be tuned like the 96-97 and you cant swap eprom chips like the 91-94's
For you to run the 95 motor you would need the computer, complete wire harness, exhaust manifolds and all the engine sensors and parts. Personally i would stick with the 96 or if i was to go thru all that work i would put in a 97 motor and trany... they are the best pair! the trany was stronger and the engine had all the bugs worked out and was a wonderful engine...
further more if you wree to dive in and do that much work you might as well change to the 3800 SC motor and call it a day. if power is what you want that motor will make much more power then you can pull out of our DOHC. i have been very luckey and have some nice #'s with my Z but i have put a lot of work into it. a stock l67 (3800 SC) would be dead even in the 1/4 most likely and i wouldnt stand a chance off the line aganst one.

RE: Engine Swap?
I want to swap engines because i found a 95' Z34 on ebay with no miles and never been run in a car. I was given to a college by gm for them to look at and now he is puting it up fot sale. But i guess if it is not a good motor then it is not worth getting it, so thanx for the info.
