Default Engine pull

Hey guys so I’m about ready to pull the engine. A buddy of mine reccomends we put 4 supercharger bolts back into the intake manifold and pull it that way, like an old Chevy motor that’s carbureted, since most of the accessories will be off. I have aftermarket heads so I don’t have the hooks and I also have headers. Will this work? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Not knowing the size of those bolts off the top of my head. I wouldn't try it.

If you threw your lift brackets away, they should be practically free from a JY or actually free from a local member. Otherwise I'd stick some bolts in the end of tbr block or heads and pull it that way - much more substantial bolt bosses there

You'll likely have to pull the headers anyways depending which kind they are - many of them extend too far down under the firewall and make it harder to pull out.

I have stage 3 zzp heads and 1-7/8 huge zzp headers so I don’t want to mar those up I’m going to remove them first. I don’t have lift brackets. Maybe I could rather strap 2 straps around the block, 1 on each side

No local 3800 members or junkyards? Certainly plenty of other creative options, but someone local on one of the boards or FB groups would probably let you borrow them for free (or even just give you a set).

Definitely see if you can get those brackets somewhere.
