Engine Asplode!

Engine Asplode!
So twoo weeks ago, I brought my '06 LT3 in for an oil leak. They replaced the crank seal and said everything was kosher. I had no reason not to believe them, though the low oil light was still coming on even with plenty of oil in it. The guys at the service desk said it would go away, which it did.So Tuesday night, I was leaving my gym, and I turned the car on to hear this absolutely horrendous knock! I checked my oil and sure enough, there was non to be found. Took the car in the very next day(after filling it with oil) and asked them just why this had happened. 2 days later and they are still "unable to find the origin of the leak" which is either code for "we screwed up and don't want to tell you" or they have never worked on a 3.9? Either way, my Monte is down for at least a week. Thank God for the 5 year 100K warranty I bought for the powertrain!

RE: Engine Asplode!
It sure was a rental, and it really was low miles for one. I bought it with 34K on it after 2 years of service, and I now have 47K on it. We sort of figured it out. It must have been an oil line burst while I was driving and my alarm failed to go off. I don't know why it didn't but that put my engine down for good. It's been a week and my dealer still hasn't even torn apart the engine to find out what really happened. The oil line theory is just an educated guess. Thanks for the well wishing, I'm not too disheartened. Like I said, it Was a rental, and with a new or reconditioned engine, both o which come with an identical warranty, I should be fine.
