E85
Anyone run e85? Heard lots of good things like increasing around 10% hp. Ya it does get worse gas mileage but it's also over a dollar cheaper where I'm at usually a 1.50. I already got big injectors all I would need is a bigger fuel pump and a tune. Then I heard e85 destroys plastic gas lines leading to lots of problems. Anyone know of this happening or how bad it can be

E85 is an abbreviation for an ethanol fuel blend of 85% denaturedethanol fuel and 15% gasoline by volume

With the latest phase of modding my monte, I'm switching over to E85. I added a second Walbro 255 pump in the tank, I'm upgrading the fuel line sizes (mine were rusted and in bad shape anyways), I switched over to 110# injectors from my old 65#, and I went with a Magnafuel 1:1 boost referenced FPR (already had PRJ rails from before).
Seen lots of people have really good results on tons of types of cars. Only bad thing out here in Phoenix is it isn't super cheap, and it's harder to find. Still cheaper than running race gas though!
Still thinking about putting in one of those Racetronix ethanol content analyzers. I've heard there can be some decent variation in the amount of ethanol in the fuel- especially between seasons (not sure if they switch us over to a 'winter' E85 blend here in Phoenix). I think the minimum they can put in is like 70% ethanol. I looked at the VP fuels E85 blend that's supposed to be very consistent with the amount of ethanol, but it's as much as race gas!

For any M90 supercharged setup, the 60/65s are just fine. With my power goals with the whipple, it would be too much for them on E85.
I've never seen any issues in the short term on wbodys, but I also can't say I've seen anyone run it more than 3 years or so. All the wbody setups I've personally seen it on have been big power turbo setups- and it seems like most, if not all, ended up with eventual tranny issues and sold it to move on to an LS powered / RWD car.
No idea what the long term effects are (ie 10+ years).
I'm just wondering if it's going to deteriorate anything

I've heard good things about e85 and know a few people that use it. I decided to go water/meth kit instead of e85 for the simple reason e85 is not available close to me. (Closest e85 station is over an hour away)
