Default Coolant backflush-2004 3.8L SS

I'll try a new thread instead of tagging on the back of an old one...

I just bought a coolant backflush kit and I just need to know which hose is the heater inlet hose. I searched through lots of threads but nothing specific came up for my generation monte. (2004 3.8L) It appears that both the inlet and outlet lead to the same block of aluminum (waterpump?) so I'd rather not guess. For some reason my Haynes manual doesn't say which is which.

also, I'm going to try to find a clear T-fitting from a plumbing supply store to use in place of the black fitting that comes with the kit so I can check out the coolant without opening the coolant system. I'll post pictures when I'm done and where to find stuff if it exists.

thanks
xray

by the looks of the diagram, pic 11, I would say the inlet is the top and the outlet is the bottom, just an educated guess on this

I put it on the hose closest to the firewall on the alternator side of the engine bay. I will check and take a pic tomorrow.
