Default check engine light code 4055

Yesterday Got in my 2007 SS with a 5.3L and had a message to check gas cap. Ok no big deal. On the way home got a check engine light. Checked gas cap and cleared fault. This morning driving to work got the check gas cap again. No check engine light yet though I suspect it is not far behind. Seal on cap looks fine. It still has some warranty left though I bet I get a can't find any problems.
Any suggestions before I take it to the shop?

Took it to the shop today due to still under warranty. I pretty much guessed it that the can solenoid was inop. Replaced and all is well so far.

I have same thing going on right now in my 2006, did they give you any additional info (or does anyone have any) on your problem? I know yours was under warranty, but did they give you a cost sheet?

mine wasnt canister. supposedly, a 2004 car can have dry rotted hoses and stuff. but take your car to a mechanic and have them do smoke or leak test on your hoses. thats what was causing mine. i did waste money and buy a new gas cap but my light hasnt come on a month or so later

yep thats what il do, i put a new cap on mine to, figured 14 bucks for a new cap was worth a shot to see if that was the case. but the code came back and i scanned it and it was the same one. so i guess il take her in and see whats up

thanks.

yea p4055 is large evap leak. gas cap is small. its more than likely gonna be hoses or something of that sort. and dont go in the mechanic shop looking clueless because that gives them motive to call whatever bs they want to. i learned this the easy way thanks to the military
