not to side track George's thread, but can a LS and its trans be put into the 6th gen cars?
or is that where the axle work comment comes from
how many things would need to be changed to handle the v8 ?

The ls4 can be swapped in, if i recall the more difficult aspect is the computer work. You practically need the dash from an ls4 car. Someone else might have more info.

As I mentioned in the other thread, it's a waste of time IMO. It definitely fits and isn't crazy hard to swap (no custom parts or fab work), but just doesn't make much sense when you can pick up a newer monte ss that already has the engine you want.

Realistically a 3800 monte can be made to put down more power than you need FWD anyways, so I don't see the huge draw to an LS anyways. It's not like a rwd platform where you can add a trans and tires to put down more than 500 whp.
