I am wondering what's the best engine to drop into a 84-88 monte carlo. I've been hearing a 383 stroker or a lt1 but idk.

 

do you have a budget in mind? what guidelines are you going by? do you want BIG power? or good power, but not enough to blow your trans and rear end? is it gonna be a drag strip car or a street car, or a good balance of both? we need more info!!

for a street car, i've always thought putting a good strong 454 in those montes would be pretty cool. otherwise, my 2nd choice would be a small block 400. that's just my 2 cents.

 

I want BIG power ha its a street car tho I dnt really have a budget in mind because I am doin work throughout the year on it and I have money to spare for the moment so I want to have a nice set up. Engine, tranny, and everything else
