anti freeze leak help

Default anti freeze leak help

i have a leak antifreeze appears to come from back of motor and or right top facing side of motor..have never had any problems til today drips by thermostat BUT not at thermostat about 3 inches to the rear..not sure if its head or not and not sure if a product called dura seal or blue devil will help..anyone with some advice or help would be appreciated...

Before throwing any money / parts at it, I suggest you borrow a radiator pressure tester from a local auto parts store. It will allow you to pressurize the cooling system while the engine is cold allowing you to look / listen for any leaks. Most places make you put a deposit on the tool but refund it in full when you return it.

Leak locations, especially around the intake manifold, can be very misleading due to the fluid running along an edge and dropping far from the source of the leak. Take the time to better diagnose the leak and you'll have a much easier time solving it.

BTW, I would not put any leak sealants in your system. The potential long-term harm can offset any short-term solution. And they don't solve the problem - just mask it for a while. My 2 cents...
