Default alternator source

I am a big car audio enthusiast . I have a 03 Monte SS. I am going to overhaul my engine and put a HO alternator when I do. I found another site, DB electric, they have 160-250 for our years(6th gen) Has anyone ever heard of them?

I have not heard of those, but GM had different factory alternator options for the '00-'05. I recently found that at some point the lower amp alter is different from an '00 and an '04 (by about 3 amp if I recall).

Not sure if it would help, but you may be better off looking into buying the higher amp alt for your car (I believe it is a 125 amp alt).

I have never added enough gear to my cars to require increasing the amps on my alt, so perhaps some others here will have more input.
