Default 86 oil leak

Somewhere on my passanger side is an oil leak, there's oil all over the area even on my 2 front sparkplug boots and all over the wires, I didnt notice it till I started driving longer distances and faster speeds now that I travel to work and back on the turnpike doing 70-85 than when I get off and come to a stop ill smell the oil burning, I just replaced the valve cover gasket lastnight thinking that would make her all better but it did the same thing today on my way to work. I don't know much about working on engines besides the easy stuff.. lol anybody have any ideas?

i'd say start with washing down the engine with some degrease and try to pin point where it is comming from otherwise it's just going to be a guessing game

Is this on v-8 or v-6? If v-8 motor, I hope you didn't tighten down too much. That can distort the valve cover and make it leak. Also, I hope you have the load spreader on the valve cover. If not, it may cause to leak at valve cover.

Aside from that, you can take the valve cover off, check to see oil drain is not clogged, check the valve cover rail for any damage or foreign object (which I doubt because you said you change the valve cover gasket), and check the valve cover itself.

Do you have one of those chrome valve cover? They are notorious for leaks if not prepped right.

think I may of solved the problem ill find out after work today, but I talked to my mechanic (he knows about my car than I do lol) he reminded me that when he installed my headers he had to maunver my oil stuck around the headers, and my best bet is that the oil stick is probably not even fully In the block and its spraying out
