Default '73 Police Interceptor?

I recently bought a '72 monte carlo. The seller said the engine had been replaced with a '73 model Police Interceptor HO 350. Can anyone tell me the specifications on these engines (compression ratio, etc.) or where i can go to find them?

..Hi `SomeDude, & Welcome to the MCF Family.
I don't think Chevy had a Interceptor Engine, but Ford Did.
Chevy did have a 350 they put in2 Police Cars.
Check back and see what our Expert Motor Member's post.
Until then U may want to check out the below link, that has
the engines that Chevy used in their cars & Police Cars.
Good Luck, and take pic's & post. Oh, you can not always believe what a Auto Seller tells `ya 4-Sure...Some lie Yes, can U believe that ? lol

-Kidspace, yeah i had wondered about that. isnt there a way to check serial numbers or something on the engine?
-Jimbo, this engine was made before efi and computer components were used in cars i'm pretty sure.

...Hi SomeDude, Unless one of our Expert Member's post an answer, I would contact companies like the below link & see if they can assist you. Also you could stop by a Chevrolet Dealership & see if the Parts Dept will run a search on their GM Computer.
Wish you Good Luck..I'll keep look'in & hopefully one of our member's know that only checks in every week or so..

Thanks, Kidspace. I got the numbers off of the engine and looked it up. Apparently it is a police engine but its either a 1974 that started with 160 hp or a 1975 that started w/ 145.

I am now completely confused. the casting number says its from a group of engines that was between 200 and 300 hp, but the stamp on the block says its 160 hp.
