5 speed swap on 87 monte carlo ss

Default 5 speed swap on 87 monte carlo ss

ok guys im a little lost....... i have a 86 camaro iroc z with a 5 speed trans the motor in my car is toast so i went out and bought a 305 monte carlo ss motor well come to find out my old flywheel wont fit on this motor because the hole in the center of the fly wheel is to big and the bolts dont line up witch flywheel will fit this monte 305 for a 5 speed



i dont know were to start because they didnt make monte carlos in a 5 speed
does anyone have a idea of witch flywheel will fit this motor???

The holes are different because you're putting a 2pc rear main flywheel on a 1 pc rear main engine. You should be able to use a flywheel from a 87-92 Camaro or Firebird, but it has to be v8. 305 or 350 either one should work, it just can't be a v6. 2.8's and 3.1's are 60 degree motors, while the Iron Duke 4 cylinder, 4.3 v6s, and all small and big block v8s from 55-up are 90 degree motors. Bellhousings and clutches and things like that won't interchange between the two.
