1979 MONTE CARLO FACTORY 3 SPEED
just wanted to start out by saying hi to all the monte people on this website.
i was wondering if any of you guys have ever seen a 1979 monte with a factory 3 speed in it..i have one and i'm thinking about selling it but i'm not sure what they go for..i do know that it is really really rare and that just under 900 were made in 79 but that number also includes the factory 4 speeds so who knows the auctual number made on just the 3 speed ones..
do you guys have any suggestions on where to look to find out or even where to start from as for pricing it if i am to sell it?

where do ya live?
Also the best way to get something like this priced is to have it apprased.
If it is a true #'s matching car they can run all of them and come up with a price for you and also a number of how many were made.
I have owned 6 of the 3rd. gen montes and never have seen one in person. I heard of them but always thought they were a myith LOL
i would love to see some photos of it.
personally i think i would be hanging on to it if it is this rare and also restore it.

i live in Lima,Ohio..i have thought about keeping it to and hold on to it for future selling but i'm still unsure..in all honesty for being a ohio car for the last 15 years it is still solid..
i'll post some pics for you guys to check it out..the guy i got it from had this 3 speed and he also had a 4 speed one that he was going to hold on to..
these 2 were the only ones that i have ever seen in person..

to make sure all the numbers match ou need to find all of them on the car, then you need to match all of them threw out the car. they will have corasponding numbers on the motor , tranny fire wall etc...
Also you can run the vin tag and it will tell you what motor tranny it should have.
This will also let you know if it is a "true" 3/4 speed car and not a converstion. Or being sold as something it should not be.
Im not tryign to pick on you but in honestly it can happen to even the best of car buyers to get foold by someone with somethign rare.
I have seen several 1970 SS models that were not a SS at all. but they sure looked it and also had the right emblems in thier places etc...... but they were clones being sold as a SS.
You see this in Camaros ALOT!! in the 67-69 Years and even others.
but a car apprasier can find the right numbers etc.. to help you reserch your car.

WELCOME!
I look forward to seeing pics of your MC.
While I was in college, I knew someone who had a 1978 MC with manual transmission. His was light blue with a white interior. I don't, however, remember what engine he had in it.....

Turbo MC in 1986? I know about the Turbo MCs produced in 1980 and 1981 ... but, as far as I know, those were the only 2 years Turbos were included from the factory.... Do you have pics/paperwork for the 1986 version?
I've seen a few diesel MCs. One of the guys I know has one ... blue in color. He is a member of the NMCOA and also has an orangish '75 MC with black interior.
