Hey guys, been awhile since I've posted or even browsed through here but now I need some of your expertise.

Right now I have access to a 5.7L Vortec that has a noisy bottom end but the heads and fuel system are still good. I read an article in a magazine or online where they were able to get almost 400hp out of a 305 with the basic bolt ons; headers, intake, carb and the Vortec heads with an aftermarket cam shaft. I was wondering if any of you knew what I needed to be able to put those heads on my engine and still have it carbureted. I searched around the forum before I posted this but there doesn't seem to be any threads like this one. So your advise and knowledge would be helpful. Thanks.

vortec intake and your set

 

Vortec intake has a throttle body on it, I don't want to have any computers running my engine, I want a carb on it, is there an adapter plate I have to get?

 

Just need an aftermarket vortec carb intake, just punch in "vortec intake" on ebay. That will give you a good cross section of all thats out there.
