Default 3800 upgrades?

I'm sure this has been talked about many times but I have a 03 ss I'm wondering what are the few things I can do to get more hp not looking to build a 500 hp motor just some extra juice.

I plan on replacing my motor maybe over the winter and dress the new motor up along with a fee upgrades for extra kick any ideas?( parts and prices would be great)

Welcome to the MCF

How many miles on your Monte Carlo ? What is your modification budget ?

Will you be doing the mod's yourself ? or having them done ?

Wish you good luck on getting your Monte to where you want it to `be

what are your first steps??

the first steps would are you looking for a supercharged type of engine or a turbo or a n/a beast?

there are so much a 3800 can produce.

there is what bumpin did to his motor which to me is a one sexy 3800 supercharged engine.

also what turbo monte did to his which is also a sexy beast of a 3800 engine.

they also had there 4t65ehd beefed up as well because the 4t65e and the hd are a week link for our monte's.

there is a lot you can do but it can add up to do it right.

I do not want to turn you away on what you would like to do. I am just letting you have a heads up on what to expect.

if you want to start with the trans and start building up the engine it would be good start.

what I mean is having a 3800 out of a donor car and build it from there so you wouldn't have it down for any length of time we here would understand.

because there are some members who did the same thing so there monte wouldn't be down for a length of time.

build the engine and save up to get the beefed up trans from a vender like zz performance or have it built at a good trans shop.

what ever you do don't be persuade on not doing it. we here would help you on advice and also give input if you choose on which way you want to head for your 3800

Yes if you add any significant amount of power an upgraded trans will be needed. Hands down the best trans builder for our cars is dave at triple edge performance.
