Default 3400 engine cover removal?

Hey guys... How do I remove my engine cover? the last thing i wanna do is start unbolting things I dont need too... lol. I want to repaint it, and last time I just used a brush to touch up parts. I kinda feel like doing it RIGHT this time.

wtf, how did you get a 3400 engine cover??? Ive been trying to find one since the break of dawn. Of last year.

Ummm, I could be wrong but the 3.4L Monte didn't come with an engine cover.
If you're talking about the top part that has "3400 SFI" or whatever cast into it, then that is actually your upper intake manifold.

On some of the early 3.4L vehicles, they used an engine cover similar to what the 3.8L engines do. That was before they started casting the upper intake manifold.
You can find those on some of the Pontiac Montana minivans. It is pretty popular with the Grand Am crowd to get one off of a minivan and paint it up to match the theme of the car.

sorry for the late response, back from basic now.



Im thinking of the Upper manifold... *doh!*.

thanks for the help, ill see if I can find a cover in the scrap yard. how would they fit on ours if they didnt come with one?
