so my buddy has 86 ss, we switched out the 305 ho for a 350 vortech, i now own the 305. now my question is kind of stupid, but im taking the intake mani off, and im having problems with one bolt. right next to where the egr purge is, i cant fit a socket because the ratchet and socket combo is too big, a wrench wont fit between the egr purge raise in the intake and one of the intake runners. any suggestions? at all?

I usually use a 9/16th socket with a universal joint and long extension.

 

remove the egr valve it should make the clearance you need .

 

actually, the egr has been off, and i did try the uv joint, didnt work stilll. but i finally got it off, these ****ty *** strap-on wrenchs were too thick to fit in there, just screwing around one day i grabbed a cheapy taiwan and bam fit rigth on. thanx though.
