Default 3.4 LS Tranny Problems possibly?

Hey guys, recently my 3.4 LS has been giving me some wierd troubles, driving down the highway doing about 80 km/hr, put it to the floor to pass and it revs up to 4-5 k as usual but it feels like im going nowhere, my speed was not climbing, but my engine was revving, let off and shifts back up and try to speed up slower but still, wouldnt go anywhere until i almost got it to the floor and it would rev up to 4k and stand still. This is really wierd, and I freaking hope its nothing serious, but I was just hoping I could get some suggestions from you guys,
Thanks so much

no, just the standard 3.4 LS automatic. When i floor it, it feels like its in neutral then when i let off it lurches forward a bit. this is all when doing highway speed.

sounds like the clutch's are slipping. these trannys will burn up if you drive hard with out a shift kit. If you want to try something yourself before you take it to a tranny shop, change your fluids and filter, and heck, throw in a shift kit yourself. Its a very easy task. all you need is jackstands and a jack. something to lay on. and a few tools. nothing special.

This could be another problem though, its hard to say with out driving the vehicle to identify if its a power or drive train problem.

have you checked your tran's fluid? is it clean?
