2004 monte carlo knock sensor and hard shifting
hello. i am new to this forum. i have a 2004 monte, it has around 170,000 km on it. i am not sure what size of engine that it has or if it even matters. my engine light came on then went back off. i scanned it and got the code P0327 knock sensor 1 low input. we changed the knock senor when we got the car from my uncle about 4 months ago. also. when my temp gets closer to half it shifts hard. we did a tans flush when we got the car and i check the level about 2-3 times a week, any info of what to do would be greatly apprectiated. thanks

Ok, get a scan from a trans shop. But im 90% sure you have p1811 code, max adapt long shift, your pressure control solenoid has most likely failed. Its a $650 dollar fix.
Need to know engine size and trim level be for I can help with the other issue.

Hello and Welcome to the forum!!
And the other 10% it could just be gummed up parts. for $13 you can add some Lucas Stop-Slip from about any auto parts, Walmart, K-mart etc.
I have an S-10 ZR2 and full size GMC, both have tranny issues, I just add this tranny fluid viscosity thickener and it rejuvenates your existing fluid and free's up sticking valves etc. I have been nursing along these vehicles for over 3 years like this and they still keep on giving me free miles. About every 4 to 6 months I suck out some old fluid and add another quart of the Stop-Slip and off I go again...
The knock sensor may have either failed again, especially if it is an aftermarket one, or an intermittent wire connection.
I have also hit a few good bumps in the road and have it set off my knock sensor code too. I reset it and no more code returning so I knew it was just the road conditions that caused it.

I will figure out engine size and trim level than get back to you. And as for the code would I just be able to reset it and see if it comes back again to figure out if something is wrong with my car? The road conditions where I live are pretty bad.
