2001 monte carlo how to remove the engine
Is there a video or a step by step instructions on how to remove an engine for a 2001. I'm having major oil leak and I can't tell the source. There are oil spots and drips from underneath. Half the engine is covered with oil stains. The car has 207k, it's still drive well but I would like to remove the engine. Never remove an engine before, but I know my way around an engine. Looking for some instructions or video on the subject.

I have a noticeable oil leak, engine covered in oil, when i park oil spots. I can not seem to locate the source of the leak because of the mess. I would like to know how many motor mounts does this car have? I would also want to know if there is a video or good instruction on pulling this engine out. Never pull an engine out, so i'm looking for some video or good instruction to guide me. I don't want to take it to a garage and pay tons of money for something i can do myself.
The engine is 3.4 V6, with 207k. 2001 Monte. Once i get it out i want to take it to the shop to get it remanufacturer. This would cost me far less then having those shop take me to the cleaners. Since it will be my first pull i'm a little hesitant. hope someone can give me some help thanks.

Unfortunately you are asking questions that have been answered on this forum many times over. We may have something on the topic in the FWD Tech Info section.
There are 4 mount. You have the two upper radiator mounts, a lower engine mount and a lower transmission mount.
If you can validate the oil leak is in the front of the engine, the fix may be easier then pulling the engine. In the front of the engine is the oil pressure switch, that sometimes fails and when it does, sprays out oil. It takes about 10-20 minutes to swap and is roughly $10 from the parts store.

You asked an question and got an amcer, if you have never removed an engine this is a comprehensive guide on how to do so and has specs you will likely need to do most of the jobs involved with our cars

Typing step by step instructions would take forever. Get the manual, read online through Google searches and on the forum here, then ask questions if you are stuck on something specific.
