I've been told i would need to use a different tranny if i want to install a 3.8L in my current 3.1L 1997 LS....Any truth to this?....Regards.....Tom

 

its possible to use your old trany, but you would need to have it rebuilt... cause the gearing would need to change... nad it would be more work tuning the computer. your better off droping in a new/diff trany. cause the trany that goes to thw 3.8 is much stronger and your trany you have now wouldnt last long with the new engine. do it right the first time...
