Welcome to our Monte Carlo Family.

For member's to be able to assist in your problem, please post
additional information.
1. How many miles on your 86 Monte ?
2. Is it factory stock without mod's ?
3. How long has it been sitting before you purchased ?
Are you still on your first tank of gas ?
4. Do you have the history on your Monte.

Sounds like it could be your carb...Is it the factory
2bl ?
5. When was the last time it was tuned ?
Plugs/wires/Distributor ?
6. Do you have mechanical skills ?

Look 4ward to your answers & as much infor that
you can post about your Monte...
Oh, we would love to see pictures.

This car appears to have the quadrajet carb, its 100 % original, and only has 55,000 org miles, it is a really beautiful carlo,, pics are on the way.. Could this be fuel related? jus need some help please thanks

Under the hood, removal of the EGR will eliminate surging and increase cruise gas milage at the expense of some increased NOx. Removal of all vacuum lines feeding it will accomplish this.
