My monte is at 104000. I just developed a surge or what feels like the tranny shifting into and out of overdrive. Seems to most noticeable at a light load. I see the tach jump up and down up to 200 to 300 rpm when it occurs. Almost feels rough but really feels like the tranny. sometimes the shift back into overdrive really hammers. If I wasn't worried about the tranny being the weak link I would think it was a plugged fuel filter. I am going to replace tranny fluid and filter, spark plugs and fuel filter for a starter since I have not done any of this yet. I havent kicked any codes yet but will also see if any are in the memory.
