1 aweomse trans build! pic heavy!
as i posted a little while ago my trans took a crap on me so i started sourcing parts that are almost unheard of to make this trans build hopefully last a long time..... here are some pics try not to drool to much
GMR aermet 800hp input shaft:
now with this input shaft i needed a few grooves cut into it to be able to use it, first groove was for a nylon seal and the other groove was for a rubber o ring which is the converter seal.... some pics after being machined and seals installed:
next up is the GMR 300m output shaft, this is direct drop in no machining required:
next up is a GMR 1" 3/8ths pitch chain and gear set:
with this chain set i needed to remove some material from the inside of the reluctor wheel and then i bolted and welded the reluctor wheel to the drive gear:

at this time you would put on the side cover i dont have a pic of that but will update this when i get one.
other upgrades that are done and i did not mention in the write up above, TEP input, 2nd, 3rd clutch upgrades, TEP valve body and channel plate upgrades, ZZP chrome moly pump shaft, cartuning performance 2800 stall converter.

i hope you enjoyed looking at some awesome GMR parts and my little adventure through a 4t65-e transmission thanks for taking the time to read and look at all my pics

Thanks man!!
Chain set I sourced from an individual and they sell for about $1500-$1700 depending on who is selling it etc. Its luck of the draw finding one for sale I got very lucky with the right place at the right time deal to acquire all of this
I might have a lead on a gmr 1" 3.29 ratio chain set if your interested i might be able to get it for you.. If I remember correct he wants $1700 plus shipping...

Thank you, and I would potentially consider it if I could keep my 2.93 gearing... My car is a street car, and I cruise the highways quite a bit. Not to mention my fuel economy isn't great either.
last time I asked, a 2.93 1" set is roughly 2k... almost as much as my entire trans with the 7/8th chain. So I simply tend to not do burnouts and most of my 'races' are from 40mph roll.
Glad to find another turbo monte...!

Very very nice work your doing there John. I was drooling over all the nice parts your using in your build. Going to be a bad *** tranny that your assembling for sure. Nice clean work, the LSD will be the icing on the cake for this build. Bet you had to sell your soul to find some of those parts. Nice picture presentation you compiled for us all to view. Least we both now will have bad *** trannys and billet limited slip diffs. for our showdown at the 2014 GM Nats... Congrats on your build!!

John:
That's way to many parts for my brain to comprehend let alone remember where everything goes!
I'm guessing the toughest part for you is when you take it in and out of the car? Cause it sure looks like you definitely have the inside of the trans figured out!
Care to come to Michigan and and "toughen" mine up?
Nice job and thanks for shareing!
