Default 05 Monte shifting hard when warm air bubbles in fluid

I just bought an 05 monte LS and I just started noticing that when the car is warmed up its starts shifting hard. I checked the fluid and there are air bubbles on the stick and it seems to be over filled.
Any advice on the steps I should take before any damage is done to my tranny?

When too much fluid is put in the transmission it aerates - a sure sign that the transmission has been overfilled. This would also explain rough shifting. Transmission fluid cannot be compressed but air can. The air mixed with the fluid is the problem. Drain some fluid from the transmission until it doesn't exceed the full line. You can purchase a hand operated siphon pump for a couple of bucks. Suck the fluid out through the filler pipe. It will save you a lot of time versus dropping the pan.
