Default Paddle Shifters...

Can anyone think of a reason the the paddle shift set-up wouldn't work on my car? The Grand Prix GXP also came with the 5.3L and I am pretty sure the same tranny. What do you think would be involved with putting this on my car?

I have no idea what would be involved, but I like the idea. You're right about the GXP having the same tranny so theoretically it should be able to work. I'm just guessing here, but maybe if you had a GXP PCM and it's physical paddle shifters installed, it might work. However it works, it would be awesome in a Monte, especially one with a turbo 5.3.

i believe the valve bodies are different. you might be better off asking this question on ls1tech in the ls4 section.

If it's just the valve bodies, then that's easy. But yeah, do some research and let us know what you find. This is a cool idea.

dont quote me on that. i think that someone had mentioned this when they were swapping it into the fiero.

Yeah, the only info I have so far is the 5.3L with the 4t65e hd into the Fiero. That is an AWESOME car though.
