Default Mods on 01 LS 3400

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites for any good mods for the 3400? I keep hearing about the Wizaired CAI but can't find a website for them. If anyone can help me out, that'd be great, thanks!

Wizaired is on ZZPerformance.com under Grand Prix.

Anything else will have to be bought from wot-tech.com

Expect to pay quite a bit for 3400 mods

Trewyn is the main man for Monte 3400 mods

I know there are a lot of posts about 3400 mods. But depending how deep you want to get into it, swapping for a Monte with a 3800 would be the best drive train to play with modding IMO. A lot more aftermarket parts and options.

The N-Body folks also know other parts of 3400 modding since that is the N-Body drive train of choice.

sorry i was short earlier, i'm in class lol, you can get a 3800 and a harness for as much money as you'd spend on making the 3400 to get as much power as a stock 3800. 3800s are also a little better in the top-end.

There are headers out for the 3400 for about $900-1200 to give you an idea on those. Heads are another thing if you're looking to make big power, which will be in the same price range.

If you want to go small you can just do a intake and a good tune (which is where i'm at now, waiting for summer for bigger mods) which will give you a nice increase if you're just looking for a little more power to hold you off.

You can also get into ported intake manifolds and throttle bodies which is what I'm doing currently. That will run you around $500-600 give or take $50-100 for gaskets and new bolts and all that good stuff.

If you decide to go with tune and intake route you can always do small things like dual exhaust, custom downpipe (which can get expensive depending on where you go), U-bend delete.

Let us know a little more about how you're looking to go into this and we can give you a little more guidance!

Thanks for your help guys. I should have been a little bit more in depth on what I am looking for for mods. I'm mainly looking for cheap bolt-ons that will give me more power when I punch the gas but also increase my gas mileage when I'm not in the gas.

cheap is kind of the first word i saw when i read this post lol, if you're wanting to stay cheap, maybe you should look into making a custom fenderwell intake, that'll give you some extra power and free up the airflow so you're getting better mpg when you're not on it.

keep in mind, with the better sound, you'll probably not get any increase in mpg because you'll be getting on the gas every chance you get.

the u-bend delete will also give you a nice little boost in power, nothing too noticeable, but should only run you about $40-50 at an exhaust shop.

as far as dual exhaust goes, that's not going to give you any real horsepower, it will just look a lot better

Thanks trewyn.
Are there any computer chip/programmers out there for the 3400? I've thought about getting one for my car but haven't been able to locate one

there are some that pop up sometimes over at clubgp.com

you can look at like powertuners or something, but your best bet is just a canned tuned since you seem to want to mod on a budget, you won't be needing to change the tune too often, it would be a most cost efficient way.

you can look at tunes at:

milzymotorsports
overkillmotorsports

that's about all I can think of off the top of my head for canned tunes for the 3400.
