How did you attach it to the trunk lid? And how did you determine shape/size of the hardboard?
thanks maniac

i had to drill some holes and i held it up with plastic screw rivets
first i traced it on poster paper and trimmed it until it looked right, then traced it on the hardboard and cut it with the jigsaw

Cool! Sounds easy enough to do. That's a future project for my Monte (one of a few).

[quote=Franks 03SS;384850]i plan on having it covered in suede, and a bowtie layer in the center
with the bowtie raised about 1/2 inch with red Led's behind it i want something basic that doesnt stand out too much
i'll be using 1/8 thick hardboard so it wont weigh a ton :p
as some of you may know i made one for my previous monte lol, turned out "alright" but that was my first. i hope this one comes out much better since i know what im doing now

here's the one i made haha
i should've kept the paper template! dang it!

[/quote
That looks great... How did you make the template for the SS?... Thanks,

printed each S on a piece of paper, cut them out... taped them together... placed the SS on the hardboard... traced it and finally cut it out haha
then a piece of hardboard wrapped in red vinyl was placed behind the main hardboard with staples and some glue to make the SS stand out in red
