well i got a few things done today

these will be the 4 mounting locations.
I drilled 5/16 holes? not sure what size the bit was but yeaaaa :p


also got some 1" stainless screws, nylon nuts and black screw covers to keep the clean look


here's the (2 poster papers haha) template mocked up and it looks alright. I'll be trimming the hardboard and chevy logo piece sometime monday


Im trying to decide whether or not to use foaming below the suede to give it a smoother feel. cant seem to find it anywhere though? they have 1" foaming at walmart but thats too thick i'd like to use 1/4 foaming if i can find any lol. but even if i dont use it, it'll still look nice when its all done

Looking good so far Frank. I agree you should put some foam underneath the sued. Something like this might work :

POLY FOAM upholstery- craft foam 1/4" x 14" x 54" | eBay

dude thats freakn awesome! thanks! one problem though its only 14" wide i'd like to use one single piece on the whole board. and have left over for the chevy logo lol

im probably going to order a roll of the 14"x54" and a roll of the 22"x54" just to be sure i'll have enough :p

thanks mike i just realized im low on funds right now to order the foam I ordered some more suede last night, 2 yards actually haha
so this little project will take me a couple of days to finish :p
