Steering wheel buttons

That's funny, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Are the buttons the same as the gauge cluster, where I'd have to solder them in? That's what I've been assuming.

I'm the original owner of my Monte and miy buttons are peeling as well. I have short nails so mine isn't from the nail thing. And I very rarely get my nails done so I know mine isn't from nails pshing buttons. Whenever I get some money I want to get new buttons but until then I think I'm just going to paint them black.

I've looked at a few 04/ 05 and all have the same issue... I bought a really clean 04 SS and thought I could just replace them and I can't believe you have to take out the airbag for $30.00 buttons for worn off paint. My 90 Olds cutlass was the first car to have steerling wheel controls and they were not painted with back light.. I'm gonna take all the paint off and try to get a stencil or use some good tape instead of paint.

The air bag is not that hard to remove..
