My idiot roommate was spray painting his bicycle white right in front of where I parked my black monte. Needless to say, there is an abundance of little white specks on my poor car. I have tried to just wax it out, but that didn't work at all. Any ideas would GREATLY be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Use Meguairs smooth clay kit and then you will need to rewax the car.

Claying a car will remove paint overspray and other above surface defects.

 

Well I almost had the same problem, except it was paint that got rubbed into mine, so I used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it took it right off. Alot cheaper than the clay, no offense to your posts 24_48Fan. The eraser really surprized me.

 

The eraser will put fine scratches in the clear coat as in swirl marks. The clay bar method is non-abrasive.

 

how old is your roomate? tell him to get a car and then spray paint something next to his.. lol

How old is you Monte and what condition is the clear coat in now?

I have a 2004 in Black and my clear coat sucks! Their are swirls all over it, it has only been washed through sprayer car washes except for oil changes where they wash and towel dry (this might be where the swirls came from)

Either way, my clear coat is just bubbling away up front and you can take off quarter sides to 5 inch by 1 inch strips of clear coat off on any given day.

Either way, if your clear coat is damaged already then hit it with the eraser if the coat is mint, then claybar.

About 10 years ago my mother got a new Chrysler LHS. This car was all black with less then 100 miles on it.

I was driving it one afternoon, I noticed a road crew headed towards me. The people who spray paint the lines on the roads.

Well I get home and on the pass side of the car all the way down (front to rear) is yellow paint.
HOW in the H--L this happened beats me? They weren't even spraying on the pass side of the car.

Anyways a body shop said to use thinner on this paint. A call to the county building they tell me the longer I wait to get the paint off, the harder it dries.

This stuff was on there thick too.

I bascially had to scrap this paint off with my fingernails and man my fingers were sore for days.

But the thinner didn't hurt the clear or base coat on the car.
