those are the only ones i have ever seen . Belive me i feel your pain on this. I hate the fact we get one choice if any on the monte carlos.

I like the hoods like the way they look just want something more meaner looking.

i posted in here once about this with a pic of it. there is a guy who took a cowel induction scoop and molded it to our hood and it was about the same price and is all steel not to mention it looks better to me at least.
Plans are to get a extra hood when i get back and see about doing the same thing or making one close but still diffrent .

Do a serch on my name for this subject the photo i put in the post is of a black pace car he has a true cowl hood the old style with the 3" cowl on it.

ok yall are killing me on this dial up crap internet connection LOL

but here is the shot i posted int he other thread of this same thing. This is the hood the guy made.
It is a one off. it is a sccop that is all steel that was welded and molded to his hood and painted etc. to match the car. when i talked to him he said he had aproxmently 1k in to it. honestly i would spend it on this hood before i would the fiberglass one they have out. im not impressed with the glass hood s i have seen.

this is steel so it would be just like having our hood now.
only thing you would have to figure out is if the strong arms that hold our hoods up now would hold it up or if you would have to change those out to a diffrent set with more push power in them

Have to agree with Dess03, but considering the guy probably doesn't fabricate hoods normally he did an awesome job. He would have had to follow the fender curves and rest of the hood to make it flow, but that is VERY close for a first couple timer even and a great job in craftsmanship.

Also for referance, MPD makes a steel ram air hood with no fiberglass. It's the original and about 20 lbs less the the one that PFYC.com has as a cheap copy. http://www.mpd-inc.net/mc.htm

Well I think that hood looks better than the oh-so common "ram air" hood everybody puts on their monte. I am going to do the same thing, just having trouble locating a steel cowl. Need help finding one.

see i like the way that hood looks on the car even. But blended better im not sure it would have the same effect .
the older cars didnt flow to well ethier if you look at those.
That or im not understanding what your saying by flowing the fenders in to it more.

i just think the ram hoods for our cars have become way to common. I plan to make something like this but not a direct dup of it.
