But yours was already Black. I'm not sure how the Blue Mesh will look. Maybe you are right though I will not have to paint behind the grille I could just leave it Blue.

Yea I know where your coming from, I just think it would look cleaner if it was all color matched. I'm also not 100% sure if you would see the blue behind the grill, but there's a good chance that you would...

When I get it delivered I'll have to put it up to the car and see what I can see.
But most members I see with these grilles mostly do have black cars.

I can understand your reluctance to mess up the blue paint, and wanting to keep the mod easily reversible. But I think you're going to have to make a decision.

Either put the grille on, and do it right the first time. Or don't put the grille at all.
To me it's kinda like someone putting magnetic stripes on the car, instead of sticking them on permanently.

I've seen one car with the Tony Stewart grille that left the area behind the grille with the original paint. You could see the center post where the knight's shield badge goes plain as day. It made the TS grille on that car look like a cheap Pep Boys add-on.

I think you should just bite the bullet and paint the area behind it flat black. Together it will make the front end of your car look better in my opinion.

What if I was to paint the grille Blue and put it on that way?
Would it still stand out as a Tony Stewart grille or just blend in?

You could absolutely do it that way, everyone that I've seen paints the grill to match their car. Besides, it's your car and your grill so you can do it however you want.

Usually, guys with this grill paint the outer trim body color and the mesh part black. Your blue paint may stand out through the mesh if you don't do something to knock it down, painting it isn't the only solution.

The only reason I am being **** about it is the car only goes to car shows. It is 1 of 2 made by Dale Earhnhardt the only other one is in Maine check it out http://www.cardomain.com/ride/359157/2. There won't be any more made as you know they stopped making the Monte.
Mine only has 3300 miles on it I was offered what the car went for new. But I am still keeping it someday you might see it on Barret Jackson LOL.
The Mods I did are easily removeable.
If you check out the girls Monte are that Car Domain sight hers is a 03 mine a 04 she did a beautiful job on the sight from when she bought the car. I think she has seven pages of it. One page Michael Waltrip signed it for her mine not. NOT YET ANYWAY

Totally understandable. I don't know of any better way to do it than to lay down some black vinyl right there behind the grill, the vinyl that's used to wrap cars, that way when/if you decide to remove that mod it can be done easily and nobody would ever know there was a mod there. How about that idea?

Sorry man, I completely forgot about the 1 of 2 collectible thing.
I totally understand your problem.
There's also a special black spray paint used for protecting your paint when you install a bra. It's removable when you want to take it off. Don't know how it would stand up to rain or car washes though. It might wash off.
