whats up junior, what grit sandpaper did you use and did you wet or dry sand?

I think I used every grit sand paper - dry and wet sanding every coat. I'd screw it up too - more sanding/ coating. It took me weeks. Probably a dozen coats (or more) of primer/engine enamel/clear coat on there. Even the last coat was wet sanded w/ 2000, then hand polished with compound.
I'm not so ambitious to want to do it again

Its not very much fun when you mess up because then you have to re coat the whole thing.

I always spray on a coat of adhesion promoter before the primer to the plastic, it seems to help.

@Franks - How difficult was it to lay those decals on the covers? A scale of 1 - 10. 10 being rather difficult .. They are one-by-one, & some are rather narrow (thin) at some points ...

i would say 5. on mine it was 1 strip of the "3800" another of the "series II" and the "V6" is another strip, the strips line up perfect with the letters on the cover

its not too hard, the only thing hard about the install was that some of the letters wouldnt come off of the transfer paper :p
