Default Over waxing?

Is there such a thing?

I use a do it your self car was here, and the water is really hard and leaves a lot of spots. I usually wax these off.

So, can I wax too much?

I usually use the Tech 2.0 or the Zymol.

You can get wax buildup if you wax it too much. It would be especially noticeable on a dark colored car. It's not hurting anything, but it won't look so good.

A quick detail spray would probably do the same thing if your concerned about build up. I use a glaze (Klasse) and actually the more layers you put on the better it looks. I've had up to 5 layers on my truck (it's indigo blue) and thought it looked incredible! Heard the same is true for Zaino. I'm sure one of our professional detailers will be in here soon to set us all straight.

More than 2 layers of Wax wont do anything extra to the paint. often as you get to 4 or more the paint actually seems to look worse do to wax buildup as someone already pointed out.

I prefer the looks of applying a synthetic sealant and than follow with a layer of good carnauba wax and thats about all you need and it looks and protects fantastic

Zymol is a cleaner wax so rest assured that you aren't layering it cause the following coat will remove the previous one since it's got cleaners in it. Most waxes have cleaning agents in them, the one's that don't generally aren't OTC products so i'm sure you're ok there.
