Kev's 1979 Monte Carlo (frame off project)
thanks!
got some more stuff done yesterday

got the hubs on, steering link, adapter brackets. grinded the stock C5 caliper abutment brackets little bit and painted black. wire brushed and cleaned front frame braces - i'll weld another tube/brace to them like the sc&c frame brace:

thanks man!
those are 2" lowering springs from OPGI. told by other forums that the springs handle kinda like eibachs. my front lower and upper arms will bring the front down another 1". so it'll be like lowered 3" on fronts & 2" on rear.
talked to Tobin @Kore3 and he said the blazer spindles got a better design for the C5 brake upgrade than the stock g-body spindles. the blazer has bolt on hub - the g-body you need to machine a stock rotor down to use it as a hub. there are a few shops you can buy custom g-body hubs but if you can find blazer spindles + hubs (only the 98+, 2-door, 2wd) it'll be a lot easier for the whole upgrade. with the blazer spindels the whole upgrade is like a bolt on - with the stock g-body spindle you need to do a lot of work (metal cuts, drill and tap).
For now I'll use the stock rearend and brakes - but will upgrade with a 8.5" GM or 9" Ford later.

I really want a 9" with about 3.73 or 3.55 gears. had 3.73 on my daily driven 98 mustang and loved it.
yesterday I did some more painting parts and stuff. frame's finally back on all 4 - rolling chassis at least
also got some braided fuel lines in
