HAD IT with Meguiar's...
-shurg-
Everybody has a different idea of a nicely detailed car, and what a good product is. If I'm not satisfied with Turtle Wax, I'll give Mother's a shot. I've never used anything but Meguiar's.
I have used three Turtle Wax products: chrome polish, leather conditioner, and Express Shine spray wax. I LOVE those three products. Hopefully I will like their polishes the same.
As for a buffer, I won't use one. ESPECIALLY on my classic cars. They both have the original paint, and I don't want to wear it down. Especially the '74 Monte.
I have a buffer, and I have used it on regular cars. I prefer doing it by hand.
Again...personal preference.

I tried Mequiars quick wax and was not impressed. I really liked the Turtle wax spray & wipe product on the Expedition that was exposed to tree sap & bird droppings. I'm going back to that.
The Meguiars wash soap sold at Costco has been ok. Even in the Mr Clean washing nozzle.
For a deep paste wax - ehhhhh I'd take it to a detailer and let them do it. That's my first choice

I sell almost only Meguiars products in my store. And I don't buy them much. My only real beef with Meguiars in the lousy packaging. Seems every Meguiars spray bottle I ever bought stopped working half way through the bottles. The lid always breaks off the wipes. The wax bottles do the same. I realize a 3rd party company probably makes the containers, but I don't seem to have this problem with other brands.
I use VooDoo to keep it DaleJr-ie

IMO I dont like and will never use, Mothers, Turtle Wax, and Adams.
Ive used the Ultimate Meguiars Polishes on a DA and It sucked(You wana talk about a mess, Even with proper technique)
Why not use a DA or rotary on a classic, Its the only way its going to look top shape, with proper use there nothing to loose but what you have to gain

Sick and god damn tired of people, either internet, or face-to-face, criticizing me for the way I treat my classic f'ing cars.
Because the lacquer paint is original and thin on both of my classic cars. One is 37 years old, and the other is 63 years old. That's old paint. Besides...neither of my classic cars need that kind of detail work. Nor do they need a new paint job. Do NOT go there with me.

I have buffed a quite a few old classic cars with original paint and it is very nerve racking.
