i have been around detailing for my whole life and if you have an old car you treat it alot different than one with modern clear. I rarely want to buff classics unless the owner insists they want me to. You just never know how that paint will buff up until you start on it. I usually just wax them and call it good. Cus the last thing anyone wants is thin spots in the paint on a classic

Sick and god damn tired of people, either internet, or face-to-face, criticizing me for the way I treat my classic f'ing cars.
Wowowow Dude I didnt say anything about what you said. I wasnt even necessarily referring you what ever you have. I was simply saying sometimes it needs it, weather its orange peel, oxidized, minor scratches etc... You cant remove that stuff by hand.

But whatever dude you can take care of it the way you want. I just wanted to hear why you felt that way and educate you that you can and why

Why, I sure hope it looks perfect. Im very over particular on my details, if in isnt perfect customer doesn't get it yet.. thats why u do a small test, take constant paint measurements before, after and during.

It's HIS car. He is going to detail the way HE sees fit! And you just keep detailing YOUR car the way YOU see fit.

Jaws, You mention "take constant paint measurements" how do you do that? Just curious.

Hey everyone else ...everyone has different methods of caring for their car we may not all agree on the best method, and others may make sugestions that we dont agree on but this has always been a friendly site with no flaming.

There is a paint gauge that tell you how many microns the paint has.. But you cant go cheap on these. The more accurate they are the better also more expensive..

On the other note. I feel I didnt do anything I made a comment which I had nothing wrong with it. And some people got all defensive for some odd reason, I just backed up my words

Where do you get these and about how much do they cost.

On the other note I was really defending your right to express your opion with out getting flamed in doing so.

Hey Rick Us old timers here know you don't have a mean bone in your body.

I love this fourm and it should stay friendly and allow a diversity of
opinions expressed in a friendly manner without getting flamed back.

Jaws was just expressing his opionion and trying to help out, not to be degrading.
We all should feel free to do this or this fourm isn't worth anything

I know I have expressed opinions here in the past that I could have been flamed for but havent.
