My engine is getting greasy and dirty, I'm really wanting to clean it. Besides looking nicer, does a cleaner engine offer any other advantages?

Quatermain getting that grease and dirt off now will help down the road it won't just build up on it's self ... and will be easier to clean in the future and and cleaner when your working on it

i use Red Thunder engine degreaser on all heavily soiled areas. it's a concentrate that you have to mix in a spray bottle, but it works great. i've even used it as a stain remover on my clothes. spray everything down and let it sit for a while then i blast it away with hot water and soap through the pressure washer. i realize not everyone has a pressure washer, but using a little more Red Thunder and letting it sit longer would pry do the trick with the garden hose.

Do you think you could mix simple green or red thunder into the power washer then blast it?

brock, yeah i'm sure you could run any cleaning agent you want through the pressure washer with great results. i just like to spray it on and let it sit and eat through the dirt and grease. i've actually ran red thunder, mr. clean, and ammonia through (not all together, but at separate times) to clean inside and under school buses when i used to work for my dad (talk about a bitch job, haha). works like a charm as long as you rinse w/ clean water at the end.
