Go to WalMart & invest in some comforters (bedding). Be sure your car is EXTRA spotless for the winter, & cover it up with a few blankets. Then use the cover of your choice. And, YES, paying more for a cover will get you more protection, better quality, etc. But the thick comforters rubbing back & forth on your car's finish with the wicked winds of winter, is about the closest thing you can do to protect it, next to garaging it.

The BEST thing is getting an EARLY snowfall! Then it has early weight on it ALL winter looong ... Once weight is on it, the wind really isn't going to do much, unless you (we) have a gale force blizzard, etc. We had a big snowfall last December 1st (2010), & it was a good thing in this regard ...

Ideas from (North) Syracuse, NY, USA. The city looong labeled as the King City of Snowfall ...

Ugh.

You need to get a Noah cover from Covercraft. Custom fit for the Monte. If you have the high sports appearance package be sure and order one for an 05 SS. I ordered my first Noah cover from Summit and it doesn't fit well at all.

Amy, do you think it's a good cover for windy conditions also? And I hate to ask, but how much did you pay for it?

I bought mine here - Noah Car Cover - 950+ Reviews on Custom Covercraft Noah Car Covers & Best Prices - Videos & Installs
But I got the evolution 4 cover cause I only use it in the summer with the 05 and on the 03 when I put it in storage. It has the best dent protection. As for fit - it fits awesome and I have never had it blow off. I do use a cable lock just in case during storms.

Thanks Amy, looks like a pretty good investment. Although I don't have a show car it should still be pretty good to have on during the winter!!!!

My fiance stores his Mini Cooper outside over the winter and the cover has protected it very well. That's the first thing I buy when I get a new DD. I had one for my 05 Mustang, my 06 Mini Cooper and I will get one for the car that is going to replace the 05 in about 6 months - looking like a slightly used 10 or 11 Camaro 2LT RS. I can't find a Challenger RT with the options I want on it in my price range.

I store my Monte outside during the winter (and same with my wife's '01 Mustang, but it gets the car port). My Camaro has the garage (even though it's in pieces). I used to store my Camaro outside too.
All three cars use a Wolf Automotive custom fit car cover that is recommended for outside storage (it uses a breath-able fabric). I love them! They are snug and handle high winds fairly well. Yes, they have blown off, hence why I invested in the cable lock for them (it goes from passenger side to driver side through gromets in the cover, if the cover flies off bad enough that it is completely off the car, which has happened twice for me, the cable prevents it from going beyond the front or rear wheels and it's vinyl coated to protect the body from harm).

I think the one for my Monte was about $150. Only downside, Wolf made them for Monte's without spoiler, so my cover was extra snug because of the surfboard spoiler. I'm curious this year what happens when I cover it since I know have the '06/'07 vertical spoiler.....

Again, Wolf Automotive custom fit cover. Even when the cover flew off, I re-covered and the car was still clean. They are water resistant and breath-able.

My info-mercial is done
