Default bumper replacement

just wondering how much it might cost me to replace my front bumper cover. I slid sown a hil and hit a sign and cracked it on the passenger side. I am thinking about seein if i can find a take off from a scrap yard but its hard to find one in good condition. According to the DIY forum its easy to remove but the hard part is finding one that is'nt going to cost me an arm and a leg. Another thing is weather i can find one that is already painted. Anyone know what a new bumper cover will run me. And if not painted what that might cost me.

what year is your monte? When I had my 06 in the shop from hitting a deer (only cracked the pass. headlight housing and bowed the fender), I priced a new bumper since the passenger side corner had a light spider crack (plus has a small crack on the bottom from hitting a racoon) and it was going to cost $600 plus cost of paint (determined by the autobody).

A new cover will cost you anywhere from 500-1000 dollars painted plus installation if you dont do it yourself. Im sure you could find a cover in a junkyard if you look hard enough. The problem will be finding one your color. You could also hit up the local dealership and ask them if they have any covers already painted there or at another dealership. Sometimes when the covers are painted in the factory and there is a blemish, they set them aside and some of them make it to the dealerships. It will cost more $$ but it would be alot easier.I know we have gottena coupleat work already painted and it made my job a lot easier.
