I really like the lettering style of the '06-'07 Monte Carlo emblem a lot better than the cursive lettering on my 2000, and I was thinking about switching off my stock emblems for some '06-'07 ones and painting them black to match my car. And so I was wondering are the emblems just attatched by an adhesive or do they bolt on?

Not many emblems and badges are bolted on anymore. As someone here found out recently, when he went to his car and found his (factory) badges had been stolen. Even left him some nice screwdriver pry marks as a thankyou.

 

Good to hear. So i think I'll order one from GMpartsdirect that says MONTE CARLO LS, LT, or LTZ and leave off the last part since for some reason they don't have one that just says MONTE CARLO in that lettering style. The only one they had that was just plain Monte Carlo was in the 00-05 cursive font, which doesn't make much sense because the '06-'07 SS's just have plain MONTE CARLO with a separate SS, which I can also order by itself. The problem is, they only have the small lettering for the trunk lid since the '06-'07's don't say MONTE CARLO on the side, they just have an SS badge. So it looks like I may have to put the small lettering onthe side of my car if they don't make one with large MONTE CARLO lettering.

 

I agree, the new badging looks sweet. I didn't like the old badging so I removed it all, but since the new stuff came out I've been considering putting it back on...........i'm still on the fence though

 

At the Montes@Mis event last year I met a couple people who worked at the GM plant that made the Montes. One guy I became friends with handed me a brand new MONTE CARLO name plate he got at work. It's exactly like the name plate on my '06 LTZ.

But is only the Monte name plate. No - LS, LT, or LTZ attached to it.

 

Hey wroeber I was thinking of doing the same time with the lettering but I dont think it will look good cause of the small letters. You could also order the 5th gen side lettering which look similar to the 06 lettering and put those on the side. Usually ebay has them.

 

type in chrome letterng emblems or letters for cars and there are custom chrome letter makers out on the web, You can find a store online that sells the letters individually and you probably can tell them to make it say monte carlo in a bigger size or whatever font styke you want.
