when will chevey come back out with the monty carlo and why did they give them up

when i got mine in late 07 they put the ss model's on a car carriers they were going to put the one i got on it to i got it for a steal. 15k instead of the 28k listed on the sticker and the ss models were listed on the sticker around 36-45k. in a way they should have lowered the price on them on the sticker to move the cars. i am still ticked that chevy is still stuck on the high dollar suv and full size trucks. they should be doing what ford is doing as in pushing there cars that get 24-30mph in a well performing v6. when i went to the dealler to drop off and pick up my monty there were nothing but chevy's full size trucks and suv's and hardly any chevy cars i think around 10 cars to about a full lot of full size trucks and suv's

I would disagree, i think Chevy IS pushing its newer cars that get great fuel economy. The suv's/ trucks on lots are left over that are not selling because of higher fuel cost. Thats just my opinion.

this is what i read earlier this year while i was in web design class...
the article said that GM took the monte off the line bcuz of the new camaro but depending on the sales of the camaro will determine whether the monte carlo will be back or not. they already have concept models for around the year 2012. but they took it away once and it came back so whos to say that it wont happen again, i mean it was around what like 6 years before the monte came back last time?

GM is doing a good job of promoting their car's fuel economy features, but Ford is taking their candy with their own fuel economy and performance cars like the Taurus SHO. Does anyone know if GM has anything like the SHO?

After the 1989 model year GM cancelled the Monte in favor of a new, more "modern"-styled line of Chevy's with a new name. The 1990 Lumina series of cars. The two door sporty coupe was the Lumina Z34. But in 1995, the Lumina Z34 disappeared for a re-designed two door we now know as the 5th gen Monte Carlo.
Monte Carlo enthusiasts, the purists, used to the 1970-1989 Montes didn't like it. Didn't have a V8, it was FWD, and it looked too different from the 4th gen Monte. But GM was looking to a new generation of car buyer by that time. Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Here's the link to a thread I started back in June. It is about an e-mail conversation that I had with Holden about bringing back the G8 as a Monte Carlo, but they had a BETTER idea, and shared it with me. Will it happen? Doubtful, but check out this thread:

There weren't many '07s left around here when I was finally in a position to get one. I had to hunt for one and they would not budge on the price, then I found my baby, and the one I'd much rather have anyway, and bought it.
