A few days ago, I made a post on a thread about the SLP Firehawk, saying what a GREAT car it is, but they need to remove 2 doors and maybe make it a hardtop (pillarless coupe). Then, because of the demise of Pontiac, Chevy could import from Holden a new Monte Carlo on the platform of the current G8 (Holden Commodore SS).

For the hey of it, I e-mailed Holden, and gave them my thoughts. This is the response I got:


Dear Wayne,

Thanks for your email regarding Chevrolet Monte Carlo. We appreciate your feedback.

While your idea may be a good one and the VE Commodore SS is a great sport vehicle, any idea of making it a 2 door and selling to the US are in the lap of the gods right now.

A better bet might be if we could get the Holden Coupe 60 the go-ahead. Check the weblink:-

Now there's a really great concept and you could package it as whatever you like and it should sell.

But, as already mentioned, its all in the lap of the gods.

i like it. i LOVE the interior. i like my exterior better still though that one looks kinda like a mercedes to me.

PS you know it's fast when it's got 5-point safety harnesses instead of regular seat belts. wow!
