Legends Pontiac Trans AM, conversion!
Hi guys, sorry I've been so absent! Waiting while putting the $$$ together to get my Transmission done is a little Frustrating! But I'm getting there, should be done by mid Sept at the latest.
In the mean time, a Friend of mine gave me this pic of the Legend Trans AM. I think it looks good. Although I am a big fan of the Camaro Family, my first F Body was a Firebird. As a matter of fact my 86 was my first new car.
I think this conversion looks good. It is definitely a "One of the Few!" personalizations!
For anyone who might have a Camaro and an interest in changing it's "Face", just put "Legends Pontiac" in your Browser and you can find out more about this conversion kit.

There might be more then one company out there turning 5th gen camaros into firebirds. Another company is trans am depot (and they also use that Camaro platform for a retro gto).
There is some neat stuff these aftermarket companies are doing, including t-tops.

Jason, that is good to know. Not that I am in a position to buy a new Camaro, but I do like to personalize and if I could get one I would definitely consider one of these kits.
Mike, I understand your feelings. I wouldn't convert Ol YellaJAC to an El Camino. And I do think that a Trans AM should have separate Hi and Lo beems. I also think they might have Temperature issues. From this image, it doesn't appear to have good ventilation to the radiator. I had some minor issues with the Temp in my IROC 350 because of its nose. And if I still had it I know I wouldn't do any conversion. But I have seen a couple of Trans AM prototypes and I like the idea! Pontiac should never have gone By by!

I haven't seen one yet other than the pics. I would like to see a 5th gen remake of the Knight Rider with a nose and hood like the 4th gen Fire Hawk. Or was that the 3rd gen. And a Formula version too. I may not be able to get one but I can dream right?

You can't see it there, but Paul has added gull wing doors to his blue trans am.
