Trans fluid is never a bad idea to drop the pan and do a filter and fluid change. If you start doing that early, and try to keep up with it every 30k, you can help prolong the life of the 4t65e-hd

I chuckle when I read this. My F150 has 21 years, 130k miles....still has factory plugs, they're copper. I don't know how the thing still runs. Any other vehicle and I would follow Chibi's advice but this is my beater work truck.
