2002 monte Carlo 3400 to 3800 swap info ?
My dad has a 2002 monte Carlo with the 3400 in it and the motor went bad. I looked around and the 3400's are 1200$ and l67's 550$. Is this swap easy and will a 3800 monte Carlo engine harness swap right in ?

What car is the engine and harness from?
The trans being the non-HD parts probably won't hold up well with that L67 on it and any potential mods after.
You may also want to look into a new gauge cluster (with boost and just SS model gauges).
We need to know more about the L67 engine to tell you what all you may need though.

I wouldn't be deathly afraid of the non-HD tranny. The only real differences are the gear ratios (non-HD ratios make you faster with a small loss in fuel economy), and the diff is a little stronger for the HD's. Most of the time though, that isn't what goes out in our tranny's, so I wouldn't worry a whole lot about that. If you plan to modify the engine at all, then I would worry.
I would think that as long as you had the L67 with the Monte SS wiring harness you will be set EXCEPT for the PCM. You will have to swap the tranny too if you don't want to tune the PCM. If you're okay with getting the PCM tuned, shoot ZZP or Overkill an email and see what they can do for you.

you would need to make sure you have a 4t65e trans... if not you will need one.
I did my swap and it went well. the only things that weren't a direct swap/fit were the fuel lines. i also had to change the throttle cable, make room for headers on the fire wall, and add a 3rd relay for the fans. these were all issues because i had the DOHC. the 3100/3400 should not have these issues.

Unless you really are set on doing a swap.
