Wide - light rims for Drag radials
05 MC /SS with LOTS of mods; I have some serious HP that I want to be able to hook up, I need a drag radial and a light weight rim; So far, I have seen 7.5" rims that work well (which are wider than stock) and still allow for turning without minor to no rub.
I don't want to re-invent the wheel and unfortunately, I didn't find this in the archives...
I want a supper light 17" (or close to stock) rim that I can mount a nice wide drag radial to...
recommendations???

Yep them are it. They buldge a little on the rim but work perfect. That is just a recommended size is all. My street tires are rated for a 8" wide rim and there on a 7.5" wide rim and work perfect as well.

On your drag radials, did you drill holes in your rim and run screws into the sidewalls? Or is there no need to worry about breaking the bead? It looks like the Hoosiers are tubeless, are you running a tube in yours?

just mount them and your good to go, the hoosiers are tubeless and there in no need to put a tube in it. these hoosiers are a drag radial they are not a "wrinkle wall" slick

Just saw their disclaimer: Hoosier D.O.T. drag radials are designed and approved for D.O.T. class racing only. They are not approved, nor recommended for any kind of street use.
Looks like I probably won't be using them much on the street... LOL Maybe I should have went to a full wrinkle wall; Well, I guess we will see how these hook.
What was the max RPM you were launching at without breaking them loose?
